Our Songwriter represents the written works of 24 year old singer/songwriter Michael Macdermid and his collaborators.  It gives anyone with a good project the opportunity to have the right song for their needs, whilst showcasing the vast array of top quality work available from the Our Songwriter team.

The Search feature means that you don’t have to spend hours browsing through songs that don’t suit your act.  Simply choose the style of song you want, and let the site do the work for you!  Alternatively, if you’d rather hear a selection of work from our team, then simply go to the All Songs page.

Our Songwriter presents the material that is currently available for use, and is updated as soon as new material is ready.  There is a song of the month feature, giving you the latest piece of work or one that we feel is a particularly strong track and you can sign up to the mailing list to receive updates about Our Songwriter and any of the projects our team is involved with.  We send out a Newsletter once a month to keep you up to date.

You can find out everything you need to know about the team behind Our Songwriter at the Group page, have all your questions answered in the FAQ page, and contacting us is easy – simply click on the Contact tab and either phone us, or fill in the form to email us.

It is important to note that Our Songwriter is not about selling songs, and that anyone who wants to use material from the site must contact us to discuss the project.  If we like the project and feel that it is a promising venture, we will come to an agreement with regards to the usage of the song you are interested in.

The terms of this can vary, but as a rule, an act with solid management or a record label behind them will usually get 3 months exclusive use of the song they are interested in.  The song will be removed from the site for the duration of the agreement.  After 3 months, both parties will discuss whether or not to extend the agreement.

For unsigned acts, we will likely request a promo pack and then discuss your project before agreeing terms.

If you would like to use the existing production as a backing track for your project, this can be arranged.  Depending on the track there may be charges with regards to using the production, but this can be discussed at the time of agreeing terms.

For more information regarding any of the above, please read the FAQ’s or contact us.
