I’ve found a suitable song for my act.  Why don’t you charge me a fee for using it?

If we like your act and agree to give you our song, we will discuss terms of usage with you.  Our agreement will meet industry standards and we will of course get our share of money through royalties.  We are not selling you the rights to the actual song - we are only agreeing that you can use it.  Therefore we cannot charge you a fee.

Is every song on the website available for use?
Yes but not every song is available to cover.  There are some songs that are only available for licensing purposes to projects wishing to use the existing version and production.  If you are interested in any song, please contact us to discuss.

I want to use your production and just re-record vocals.  Is this possible?
Yes this is possible.  However, depending on how much work is involved on our end preparing a backing track, we may need to charge you for studio time.  This can be discussed at the time.

I’d like to re-work one of your tracks.  It’s the right song, but I want a totally new direction with the production and arrangement.  Is this allowed?
Yes.  However we would need to kept informed with the progress.  We would also need to agree that we are happy with the final mix.  We welcome new ideas and new versions of existing songs, especially if it means the song suits your project better.  Just be aware that any changes are subject to our approval.

I love your productions and would like to record one of your songs with your producer.  Can this happen?
Yes.  In fact we welcome anyone who wants to record with us.  We are lucky to have producer Steve Curtis on the team.  He owns and runs a state of the art recording studio in beautiful surroundings and welcomes good quality acts to record with him.  If you are interested in recording with him, simply contact us, and we will put you in touch with him to discuss rates and availability.

I love one of the songs on your site, but I’m worried that there are already loads of other acts using it.  What can I do?
If we like your act and agree to let you use our song, we can negotiate a term during which you have exclusive use of the song.  This is usually 3 months, but for certain acts with good label backing we can extend this.  You would need to contact us with information about your act to discuss.

I like the songs but there is nothing suitable for my act.  Is there anything you can do for me?
Yes of course.  Firstly, we are always adding new material to the site as and when it becomes available for use.  Secondly, we welcome artists and representatives of bands to get in touch with information about your act and what you are looking for.  We may have something that we are working on that is suitable, and in some cases we may even be able to get involved with the writing side of your project. 

I am unsigned, have no management but I have a great act.  Would you consider letting me use one of your songs?
Yes, however we would need to have as much information about your project as possible and to hear some examples of your work.  We understand that there are many brilliant acts that don’t have representation just yet, and we are just as interested in working with those acts as well.

I can’t find the right genre or tempo in the search engine.  What’s going on?
Whilst we try to include every genre, it is difficult to always have songs in every genre going.  There are some genre’s that we are better at writing than others, however if you can’t find what you are looking for, simply contact us or alternatively, have a listen to a selection of songs on the “all songs” page.

I am a songwriter and like what you are doing.  I’d like to get involved.  Can I?
We are always keen to hear from other songwriters who have top quality work.  If you would like to discuss the potential of collaborating or working together, simply contact us.

I am looking for music for my film/TV production/Computer Game.  I like the quality of your work, but don’t see anything here that would fit.  Furthermore, I’d like a writer to actually work with the footage we’ve got and come up with something unique.  Can you do this?
Yes.  We often work with footage for trailers, games, TV shows, adverts etc and write music to fit the scene.  If you’d like to discuss the prospect of having our team work with you on your visual project, simply email us for more details.
